Why you should try Maggie's Verjuice - 750ml
Discover Maggie Beer’s famous Verjuice. Made from the juice of unripe grapes, Verjuice is a gentle acidulant that can be substituted wherever you might find lemon juice or vinegar too harsh in flavour. Maggie and Colin first produced Verjuice in the early 80s after Maggie kept reading about ‘verjus’ in French provincial cookbooks. At the time, there was an oversupply of rhine Reisling grapes in the Barossa, and making Verjuice was a way of utilising grapes these unwanted grapes. Verjuice has a subtle grape flavour that highlights the natural flavour of ingredients when used in cooking, and lends itself to almost any dish, sweet or savoury. Sprinkle it on roasted vegetables in the last five minutes of cooking, or use it to deglaze your pan when cooking to pick up all the flavour from the bottom of the pan. For the mushroom lovers, Verjuice will be your new best friend as it is the perfect partner for mushrooms! Use in place of white wine if you prefer not to cook with alcohol. Verjuice is perfect in a pumpkin risotto. Otherwise, simply enjoy it as a quenching refreshment, super chilled with plenty of ice.
