Maggie Beer Fruit Paste Serving Suggestions
The best fruit pastes for a cheese platter
A favourite way to enjoy the full range of Maggie Beer fruit pastes is served with cheese, crackers, and a glass of wine. Made from premium fruits, the rich flavours of fresh fig, spicy pear, and sweet and tangy fruit pastes pair well with blue cheese, parmigiano reggiano, washed rind cheese, or crumbly ploughmen. Tangy quince, tart plum and rich cabernet pastes are the perfect accompaniment for a traditional soft brie, parmesan cheese, mature cheddar, or fresh goat’s cheese.
A gift pack of Maggie’s complete fruit paste collection is a wonderful gift for a cheese lover. Experience the best of the Maggie Beer paste range to discover a favourite flavour or create your own recipes with a burst of rich fruit flavours.
How to use Maggie Beer fruit paste
Maggie uses her fruit pastes in so many ways for that signature Maggie Beer flavour. Tangy fruit pastes are wonderful simply added to a ravioli filling, or salad dressing. Try melting a spoonful of fruit paste with a dash of Maggie’s verjuice and brush over a chook, or a rack of lamb before roasting for a real flavour burst. Brush a little fruit paste on a thick steak or add to some good stock for a BBQ basting sauce.
Maggie Beer quince paste is a special treat added to desserts. Try making cup cakes or tarts with a square of quince paste in the base. While the recipe ideas for fruit paste are endless, if you have a sweet tooth, the simplest way to enjoy Maggie’s sweet fruit pastes is to roll small cubes of paste in cinnamon sugar and serve alongside tea or coffee.
Frequently asked questions
Where we can, we’ve done our best to give you both gram weight and cup measurements to make Maggie’s recipes easier to cook according to what makes sense in your kitchen.
Unless specified otherwise, all of Maggie’s recipes are based on fan-forced oven temperatures. If using a conventional (that is non-fan-forced) oven you may need to increase the temperature by 10 or 20ºC (50 or 68ºF). Fan-assisted ovens differ from fan-forced ovens in that use of the fan is optional, making them more flexible.
